As the offseason is underway in Nashville, so are battles for roster spots. For the first time in what feels like years, the Titans have what many are calling a crowded wide receiver room. There is no debate on who the top 4-5 receivers are in this position group, but the back end of the position has a battle that catches our eyes.

Xavier Restrepo was an UDFA following last years draft in April. Restrepo was also QB Cam Ward's favorite target at the University of Miami. Ward advocated to Titans leadership last April to pick up his former college teammate. No matter the support Restrepo had from his QB, the WR had an uphill battle to climb.
During the draft process before April 2025, Restrepo took some heat from scouts and online critics for his incredibly slow 40-yard dash time. The Miami product did not run his 40 at the NFL Combine in Indy, but it was reported his 40 time was 4.83-4.86 at his Miami pro day. Restrepo quickly noted that the slow 40 time was because of a right hamstring that was tightened during warmups.
Since his 2025 40 yard dash time was reported, Restrepo struggled to find opportunities to contribute to an NFL team. In the back end of the 2025 NFL season, Restrepo found himself called up from the Titans practice squad and made a few appearances in the concluding weeks of the Titans schedule.

Although Xavier Restrepo did not find much opportunities to contribute to the passing game in 2025, Restrepo is making it publicly known that he wants to get out on the field and contribute more than last year. Many people noted during OTA's that a person to keep a close eye on is WR Xavier Restrepo. No one can sideline the fact that QB Cam Ward and WR Xavier Restrepo have chemistry but now with Restrepo taking to instagram reporting he has run a 4.45 40 yard dash time. If proven true, the boost of speed from Restrepo does boost his chances of making the final 53-man roster at the end of August. One thing this team could use a whole lot more of is a receiver who can find gaps in the defense and get there quickly, many note that is what Restrepo has been great at this offseason.
Restrepo entered the NFL with questions about his athleticism. If those concerns are truly behind him, the conversation shifts from whether he belongs in the league to whether the Titans can afford to leave him off the 53-man roster. Either way, he’s one of Tennessee’s most compelling players to watch over the coming weeks.
