Saleh pushes Cam Ward as pressure builds

  • Saleh praises Anthony Hill’s debut and says Cam Ward is progressing, but he publicly challenges the rookie after Week 1.
  • Tennessee loses 23-10 to the Jets in the opener, and the offense draws the strongest criticism.
  • Film review says the offensive line performs better than expected despite the loss.
  • Cam Ward’s passive play becomes a growing concern after the opener.
  • Calvin Ridley tells teammates to ignore outside noise and stay focused.
  • Cedric Gray remains out and in concussion protocol; Keldric Faulk returns to practice.
  • Titans sign guard Garrett Dellinger to add offensive line depth before Eagles prep.
Fans should watch Cam Ward closely now because Saleh still believes in him, but the Titans need faster, more assertive quarterback play immediately.

NFL Power Rankings
Titans
#27

1
LAR
Rams
The Rams are the Super Bowl favorites for a reason. The recent acquisition of Myles Garrett was a cherry on top. This team has too many weapons to not put them at the top.
2
SEA
Seahawks
The reigning super bowl champs have lost a few key pieces, but if they come close to repeating the same defense as last year, this team will be in contention again.
3
BUF
Bills
The Bills have been hanging around with a Super Bowl for quite some time now. Will new Wide Receiver DJ Moore put them over the top?
4
1
NE
Patriots
The reigning AFC champs have added star Wide Receiver AJ Brown which gives Drake Maye a big time weapon. This team will go as far as Drake Maye takes them.
5
1
DEN
Broncos
With Bo Nix still recovering from an ankle injury, this team looks to repeat and build off its success from last year. The defense will be top notch no doubt, but will the addition of Jaylen Waddle push them over the top?
6
2
SF
49ers
San Francisco only got better this offseason, adding Mike Evans and revamping the defense will keep them at the top of the playoff picture. Injuries keep knocking this team down, but somehow they still prove themselves to be contenders.
7
HOU
Texans
The Texans defense was considered the best in the league last year, the expect the same this coming year. CJ Stroud is hoping to return back to Rookie Number form this year but will the newly reshaped offensive line make a difference?
8
1
DET
Lions
Injuries rattled this team last year, but this stating roster is amongst the best in the NFL. The league should expect the Lions to be in the top of playoff contention once again.
9
1
CHI
Bears
Ben Johnson surely turned the team around, but with some key pieces leaving the team, expectations should be tempered.
10
PHI
Eagles
The Eagles will look different this year. No AJ Brown, a reshaped offensive line, and another offensive coordinator add only question marks around the Eagles. But perhaps the biggest question mark is how QB Jalen Hurts will handle the changes?

Stock Up
  • James WilliamsLB
Many forget Williams is still on the team, but the 4th year LB has made steady and strong appearances on the field. Williams is a near lock for this 53 man roster.
  • Tony PollardRB
Perhaps the most underrated Titan on this team. Pollard has received nothing but praise and support from his coaches. Expect another reliable year from Pollard.
  • Elic AyomanorWR
The former Stanford product has been making noise in training camp. From highlight reel catches to consistent contributions to the team, Ayomanor will be a name to watch this year.
Stock Down
  • Will LevisQB
Returning from an elbow surgery in mid 2025, Levis has not found much favor in being here in Tennessee.
  • Femi Oladejo
The 2nd round 2025 draft pick has not seen the practice field much this year because of a lingering injury in his rookie campaign. With a crowded EDGE and DE room., Oladejo has a tough battle ahead. But, no one should give up on the UCLA product. Saleh likes his rotational pieces upfront, it will be worth watching how he fits in this defense come September.
  • Pat Coogan/Fernando CarmonaOL
We always knew the OL was the biggest cause for concern in 2026, but the recent addition of Andre James raises more questions. One could hope the Titans found a pair of stalwart OL rookies in the late 2026 draft rounds, but expectations should be tempered for both.
