In the first press confrence of the 2026 training camp, GM Borgonzi touched on a number of subjects. But amongst all the subjects of conversation, the one that should catch our attention is the hope and confidence GM Mike Borgonzi has to secure a long term extension for LG Peter Skoronski.
The last number of years for the Titans have found them in a constant struggle of offensive line issues, but 2023 1st round draft pick, Peter Skoronski has provided the Titans with an anchor for the future. Skoronski is nearing the end of his rookie deal with hopes of securing a long term extension keeping him in Tennessee for the long haul. The left guard has only gotten better since his rookie season, with this past season being his best yet.
Skoronski played in all 17 games. Contributed 1,055 offensive snaps. 79.0 PFF overall grade - 6th among qualified NFL guards 84.5 PFF pass blocking grade - 2nd among all NFL gaurds 73.2 run blocking grade - 13th among guards Skornski only allowed 23 total presssures, 2 sacks and only 1 QB hit. Which adds to a 3.5% pressure rate allowed which is amongst the lowest in all o-linemen in the whole NFL. Skoronski only contributed 4 offesnive penalties the entire season. The Titans surrendered plenty of sacks in 2025, but Skoronski was not the reason. While protection broke down elsewhere, he quietly became one of the NFL’s premier interior pass protectors, giving rookie quarterback Cam Ward one of the league’s safest pockets from the left guard spot.
The Titans GM noted they are having talks with Skoronski's agent about an extension. There is no public inclination on what numbers look like, but many suspect it could look around a 4 year $88-95 million deal, with an average of $22-24 million per year. Time will tell if this deal is done during training camp to lock him up before the season or maybe this will be a deal done before the new leauge year starts in 2027. Regardless, the Titans would be wise to extend Skoronski as soon as possible.
